Axle Tubes?

Are the axle tubes on the left and right side different lengths? The axle instructions call for a long and short axle tube as well as the axle shafts being long and short but all the tubes I have are the same length on the digital calipers? The shafts themselves are different but the axle tubes themselves appear to be the same length?!? I am just reading too much into this and they are just refering to the long and short sides in reference to the braces? Thanks!

tubes are equal length , axles and tube braces are diff length's you have one long of each and one short of each....

Yeah, that is wht I thought. Never looked at it twice but this time I happened to actually read the instructions :laugh as I was putting some gear boxes together and it caught my attention. Once you put the axle shaft into a tube it is either the long or short side but the tubes themselves appear identical.

Actually even the axle shafts themselves are the same length too, it's just that one side has the pin in it. I've removed the pin when I had to because a shaft broke and I had the wrong one as a spare. But yeah the cases/braces are what make the difference.

That's good to know! Thanks for the info. Hows the TXT project coming?
