Axle question

Hows it goin',I'm thinking of getting back into rc and just have a question.I have an ol' jugg 2 and I would like to remove the leaf springs or keep'em on but just don't like how the bottom of the u-bolts hang down so far,the truck gets hung up pretty easy.I've had the truck since '05 after trading my savage for it and made-bought suspension links for it but didn't quite work.Basically what could I do to eliminate the overhang.I'd prefer to keep the stock wheelbase if possible and maybe the leaves.Any help would be great, thanks.

A little about it;locked axles,Xtreme Rc behind the axle steering with XTM high torque servo, locked rear steer, imex clod all-t dogs, sealed bearings of course, tranny mounted higher and parts box tie rods for the suspension links-2 titanium(lunsford) and 2 traxxas, nothing special.Oh,and a killer paint job, just screwing around with diff colors.

Do yourself a favor and remove the leaf springs and, U-bolts, and perches. They inhibit performance, and are only good to look at. You should 4-link and triangulate the suspension. You can get custom links made to keep the stock wheelbase, as well.

Thanks,I'm sure you've seen these questions over and over but I'd like to get back into rc and it's a sturdy truck. Also, how long do I have to wait before I can post pics?

Welcome aboard! You can post pics as soon as you are a member.

If you choose to remove the leaf springs and triangulate your links, keep in mind you will have to either make a top of the axle link mount or pick up a TXT top cover. Now mind you the TXT cover is designed for the larger output shaft bearings used in the TXT so you may run into an issue there.

Other wise you can try to triangulate either your upper links or lower links at the chassis end which will require some work.

Hope to see some pics of this body!

No issue, TXT and Jugg2 tops are interchangeable. They both are designed to use bearings with an O.D. of 11mm, it's the I.D. that changes. Since Jugg2s use a 5mm shaft they use 5x11mm bearings and since TXTs use 6mm shafts they use special 6x11mm bearings.
