Axial Monster Truck question

Ok guys, I've had lots of Clods modded and stock, but this is the first Axial type MT I've messed with! I built it with Wraith axles and AX10 sideplates, Traxxas big bore shocks, 4-link, etc.
Yesterday I did remove the front locker and install the HPI gears, but I thought i'd wait to do the rears since the fronts are more important! I finished the truck this morning and throttled up its first run. Of course its got some torque twist, not to bad, but of course its got some. This leads to hard off the line hammers making the truck dart some. In someone who has built some of these and knows them good, have you found if I go ahead and un-lock the rear diff with the HPI gears, will it help this problem?
I can't compare it to my Clods because of them being MOA of course!
Ok William G, I know you know these pretty well, hit me up with your opinion! ;)

yes, it should have less sideways pull, at least mine with rumbles did once I unlocked the rear

Also
you need your suspension soft on a shafty, it needs to have sag when sitting still for the suspension to work properly

Yeah i'm in the middle of doing the rear diff now. I thought i'd just do front yesterday along with all the other stuff I still had to do, but I was pretty sure the spooled rear was probally gonna be a problem. I actually have the rear setup kinda medium-firm, so I'll work with that some tomorrow as it has just started raining here now!

Thanks!

There are a bunch of ways to help with the torque twist.
Sway bars help, with the wraith axles you can flip the diffs and change the direction of shaft rotation to help a little (Some times it makes it worse though), or like we used to do on the old shafty comp crawlers, you flip the transmission around and that helped on the torque twist.

If you google torque twist fixes, there are tons of ways to help.

Another tip, pack the diffs with some thick grease. It lets them act like a limited slip..
