auto paint on rc car body

i painted my car a couple months ago and got paint left over and i like the color and want to paint a body that color. i dont want to get a new body and try it and mess the body up. has anyone tried this before using automotive paint on a rc body

on hard bodies, yes it's been done.

I think it's been done on lexan, but I cant imagine it sticks too well

yeah i thought about that even if it sticks to lexan it would prolly flake off i guess

if you use the wright redusers it will stick but if you crach hard enough it will flake.:tmb

Automotive paint WORKS FOR LEXAN BODIES! House of Kolor is prob the most well known company i can think off the top of my head that sells their 1:1 paint for hobbyists

the paint dose not flake off, or look crummy, its a lacquer paint so its fumes are pretty stinky and needs a special thinner... house of kolor even sells their $5,000 a gallon chameleon paint in small jars for a decent price, they even started a new product line of fast drying enamel rattle cans and paint jars

One thing you might want to know if painting ABS bodies, automotive paint is much thicker than model or RC grade paint.
