Thanks Tom. Speaking of new stuff...

@Supreme Reign
Thank you for the kind words there sir. I recently added a set of rails to the top of the shelf to display most of the vintage buggies. Keeps the tires from getting flat spots. ;-)

@rocpede4x4
Got the first update on the latest Monster...

The TXT-1 axles have been taken apart cleaned up and will be rebuilt with all new gears.

Chassis has been torn down and a new chassis is en route.

Going to reuse the old links so they have been stripped, sanded, and polished.

Hope to bring this TXT-1 up to the same standard as the other two shaft driven,
straight axle trucks that have recently been built.

Thanks for taking a look. - Arco

Installing a Level 3 "Dual Motor Mount" onto an Axial AX-10 transmission.

Removed the stock motor mount and 19 turn double 550 motor and
replaced them with a level 3 Dual motor Mount and dual 23 turn Single 550 motors.

The Red JST plug attatched to the top motor is for a sensor that goes to the headlight kit that has also been installed.

Now the only way to fit the transmission back inside the roll cage on the Wreckluse is to do it with the top engine unbolted.

Installed a light bar from Fastlane onto the custom aluminum roof panel.
Used a servo grommet to keep the wires from chafing where they passed through the roof panel.

The dual motors in the Wreckluse should haul now. That is really sweet Arco.

Thanks. Yeah, it has plenty of go now... almost too much. :p I forgot to mention that the Axial transmission rotates in the opposite direction as the the Tamiya axles. You can flip the axles up-side-down to fix this, but I already had everything built, so I rotated both of the endbells on the motors 180 degrees to reverse their polarity and rotation. The motors also have been converted to P-94 brush hoods with diagonal slotted, high silver, dual shunt brushes, and custom heavy springs to increase their drag brake.

I have a Q. Arco. Why are you running dual shocks per cantilever arm? The rebuild is looking great and I really like the Tamiya light weight chassis?

@rocpede4x4
Thanks. I always liked that chassis too. Finally had to have one. As for the dual shocks... well, I had 8 of them left-over from the AGRIOS build and I wanted to be different I guess. :p

Your builds are always the veritable eye candy :)

Hey Arco, I don't suppose you know the difference in (or) weight of that TXT-1 lightweight chassis against a stock TXT-1 chassis?

I did not even think about weighing the chassis rails but I'm pretty sure they are the lightest of the 3 versions that have been released by Tamiya. I searched and searched but I could not find a listed weight for #53520 anywhere. I did find a comparison photo similar to what appears on the plackard.

Thank you. Glad you like what has been built so far.

Welp, I went and picked-up a couple of the Associated RC-10 "Classic" (part #6001) kits back in October...

... and I finally found a new set of rear tires that came on the (Item#58036) Audi Quattro Rally, (Item#58037) Opel Ascona 400, and the (Item#58040) Lancia Rally to mount onto the rear of the Sand Scorpion.

Also picked up a pair of Thorp Dirt Burners "Side Rails" (part #4416) and mounted them onto the SS...

... and scored some new RCH wheel covers (part #210-R 1.75 fronts & part #121-R 1.5 rears) for a future project...???

simply breathtaking. great job! hod do you like those classic rc10 buggies? i have always wondered how they handled.

Just had a question about the barrel nut you used on the TXT build. THe one that comes with the widener is too long?? I wanted to use those on a clodbuster and didn't want to have to use a bunch of washers to take up the extra space. thanks
