Any snowmobilers?

Anyone here into snowmobiles? If so what do ride? What would you really like to ride? And do you wish there was a decent RC snowmobile?

I mostly ride either a 2008 Yamaha Nytro or a 1998 Ski-Doo Mach Z 800 custom. I wish I could give a Ski-Doo Mach Z X 1000 a test ride. At the manufacturer shoot out it destroyed everything in every class so it must be quite the machine. It was also one of the last behemoths from Ski-Doo. And I would love to get a good RC snowmobile but no one has ever made one. There are walmart special's and one other but they are all junk. Hopefully someone will make a decent one soon.

My 81 SRX 440. have a 540 from a VMX int with factory twin pipes. The Picture is old but the sled is largely unchanged since.

Don't see many of those going down the trails anymore. Mostly because there really was no rear suspension. Yamaha really did not get that worked out until the late 80's. The funny thing is I bet your sled ride's better than most Arctic Cat's until the late 90's. And today Yamaha is destroying the competition with their 4 stroke engines. If you ever find a cheap one you should upgrade to a 89 exciter. They can still run down the trail just as fast as a modern sled.

The SRX is really a lake sled. It has a better skid than the old leaf spring SRX but it's not as good as the later VMX. It really rips though. It has lots of balls and isn't a big sled.It makes my Dad's Indy 500 look like a tank. I really do like the Exciters and the Phazers.Seems like a natural progression. I also like the 1000 Thundercats and the Polaris Ultras. But I have turned the wifecritter on to the idea of his and hers Polaris Rushes. She just got a $10,000 raise so we'll see how it goes..

That is some nice airbrush on your Bombardier. Not often do you see custom paint on a trail sled.

When its on the move most people ignore it because it looks like a touring. But when it comes roaring by they are lucky to catch a glimpse of the tail light. The previous owner bought a mach z 800 lt. He then had the hood sent out to be painted and had the touring rear suspension, windshield, luggage rack, and seat installed. Its pretty funny to blow people away with such a tank. The best I have done with it is about 120-125 mph before the paddle track was installed.

My dad's Ultra is the same way. It will outrun a 500 on the lake with two people on it. Gotta love them triples..

Not so much. They have a very nasty habit of blowing pistons. Then the way most are designed you have to send them out to be re plated and any crank case work is big money. But they do create tons of power and seem to out run equivalent 2 cylinders.

That's pretty cool. I would have chosen some darker colors so it sticks out when covered by snow. Any pics of the side?

Here is a really cool conversion I would like to have. I believe there is more money in the rear suspension than the rest of the sled. It could probably make a lot of newer sleds run away with their tails between their legs.

I don't really pay attention to any big jumps or stunts. I am more into the history and modification of snowmobiles.
