It would be excessive. You would need to purchase a second ESC. One 4600 is enough to move the truck. If you want more grunt, then you can step up to 3S or buy a larger motor, like the 1:8 scale setups.
You'll have to make sure the settings are EXACTLY the same. Since they are sharing a spur gear, if something is off on one of the motors, they'll be fighting each other. Keep a close eye on temps during your first run to make sure they are running in sync.
And by having all that extra torque,
you add pinion gear, and then you have more speed.
I ran 2- 6,900 mambamax's in my e-revo for a while, just to do it.
This is an old thread but I thought I would bring it back alive. I saw a video posted on youtube .... (Tamiya TXT-2 Agrios Modifications - Double Brushless Setup) by Matteos RC movies, and it made me go out and order a TXT2. I have a pair of sidewinders with 4600's along with some clod tires and rims, thought it would be cool........ maybe yanks017 can give us an update on how the TXT handled it. I know it's overkill but **** ..... thats why I am into this.
Dual brushless can run.
but If I did dual 4600's it would be on 3s lipo as you just won't have any speed for your trouble on 2s
Do dual 6900 or 7700 on 2s with a 18-20 tooth pinion.
I run a single 7700 with a 17 tooth and runs about 30mph
But thats a dirt racer, and can get hot in grass..
I'am thinking 3S would tear my gears up. Either way I have options as I have batteries, speed controllers and motor sitting in my basement. I will figure it out as I build it.
