Another CPE Stallion build

This is my first monster truck build since my Marui Big Bear I built back in the 1980's. I decided it was a time for another and it would be a good brake from my scale builds. So here are pictures of the build, I have a ways to go but it's getting there.

I tell you, that is sooo pretty. I find it REALLY hard to put a body on to cover up that sweet chassis. I seriously have a mind to run mine bare if I ever finish it. You've got me seriously considering the TT CVD's. The axle width increase is a lot less than I orignally thought.
Oh, and I love the Pullers. They''re probably my all-time favorite Clod/Jugg/TXT tire.

Hey Muddknuckle,

Where did you get your axle mounted link/shock mounts that are on this truck. Did you make them? They look great. The shock mount looks like it could be a weak point. Have you had any problems with the shock mounts?

Look good:tmb You should move the lower links to the outside. THat wole setup is only hels together with 5-40 threaded rode and there is to much leverage and stress going to the center of that rod and it bends easily.

A very small update

Yama-Bro, the lower links are from DEVASTATOR and the upper links are some modified integy bumper mounts.

Soilwork, You Scare Me! After seeing what happened to your stallion I am like WOW or Ugh! Any way I will try the lower link set up as I already had CPE build me a set of sway bars for the current configuration. Also I do not plan on going crazy on motors or batteries and I am doing my best to keep the weight minimum. My axle and tire weight is a lot less than stock so I hope this may help on lower link stress . Any way thanks for the input I am sure mine will be a bit slower than yours!:snail

I still have a bit of work to do as I still need to figure out how to get the servo behind the axle as I really want BTA steering for it with the current suspension configuration. Any ideas, feel free to post them! Any way here are some teaser shots of the sway bars I had Brett build for me.

What's the wheel base of your truck? Also, do you need to buy wheel spacers to use the TTR axles and CVDs? Or do they work with the stock parts?

Yama-Bro, the wheels bolt wright on no spacers or modifications just a direct bolt on. The wheel base is 13.5".

Boss302, since I have the sway bars on this setup I am goung to run it with the current lower link set up till something bends.:tmb
