RC Fest is a charity RC event organized by my 12 yr old son Adam Munds.

A little about Adam. When he was born in Oct. of 2000 he was born sick. He needed platelets in order to live. As a small child he grew to love monster trucks. By going to many monster truck shows his passion for monster trucks then spawned a passion for radio control cars and trucks. We bought him his first truck when he was 6. After a few local friends became interested in radio controls and attended local rc bashes Adam asked me (mom) and his dad if he could host a rc event for his friends to participate in.

We agreed though we wanted to use this as a learning opportunity for him. We encouraged him to donate the money to a local charity of his choice. He came up with Community Blood Services of Illinois because after his birth our family continues to donate blood on a regular basis.

Adam's first year he invested $50 of his own money into RC Fest and made $148. Last year he made $970 and included a blood drive at his event that managed to get 2 1/2 gallons of blood.

This year he wants his show to be bigger, better, and bolder. He is going all out! He wants EVERYONE to know how important it is to donate blood every 56 days. He has appeared on many local tv and radio stations to help spread the word.

He has several sponsors as you can see from the flier above. This year WILL be even better because of the great help from people like Heath. Thank you CowRC.

If you live local and you can make it to the show it is AUG. 10th, It is FREE to enter because he does not want to discourage anyone from being able to take part in the fun.

If you don't live local consider donating blood at your local blood bank. It is the reason behind his race.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your support,
Cindy Munds

Thanks Heath-
Yes... my son Adam is the promoter of RC Fest. Please don't count him out because he is only 12. This is actually the 3rd year for his show and each year he wants to make it even bigger.
Please follow us on Facebook at RC Fest.

Spread the word, the more competition... the better!

I'm up in Champaign and am planning in coming. I'm spreading the word to everyone in the area.

I got a message from your husband on another forum as well. Great job getting the word out there! :)

Do you have any kind of schedule for the different events that day? What times are people able to donate blood? Are you selling raffle tickets for prizes? I think any of that info that you can post on Adams website will help it to be an even greater turnout.

Please send me a message if there is anything that I can help to promote this event!

Thanks for the interest in our sons show. The first event will be Speed Runs. The cars that compete in this will do this on a road surface. The person who has the fastest time will not only win the top award but they will also earn a MaxAmps lipo!

After the speed runs we are doing the high jump contest. This will be on the road surface too. Everything else will be on the baseball diamond. We have built several ramps and will have some dirt jumps.

We are asking a local air club to come do demonstrations after the high jump contest.

You can donate blood at any time during the day starting at 9:30.

We have tons of raffles, there are also prizes for 1st & 2nd place finishers. We are also giving out a Grand Champion award. You can check him out on Facebook at: RC Fest

Please continue to spread the word, the more people that compete, the better!

That's cool, thank you. We put up some fliers at Hammer Hobby a couple weeks ago trying to spread the word. Look for RC Fest on Facebook to keep up to date with all the latest.

Bring what ever you have, it doesn't matter if your electric or nitro. We figure once he gets more people he will have to divide the classes even more.

Bring your friends!
