It's simple.
Mayhem motors for both front & rear cases with 9 tooth pinion gears. The key to pulling a cold on dirt is having the correct amount of stuffers in the rear tires and having the hitch correct.

8 tooth pinion is the smallest you can use. Even though you can use econo mod motors the Mayhems are still the most popular choice because of the torque they have with the pinion size restriction. The Mayhem with a 9t pinion can be mounted without a swing plate by removing the brass tubes and using the 2 motor mounting holes that are not exactly straight across from each other. Knotching the ladder bar a little will also work. A Speed Gem 17T Saphire with an 8t might work, but the Mayhem powered trucks will run right past you most of the time.

Hi Mayhem motors are Hard To Fine,I was Wondering if I had 2-9 Turn,Motor Plates What Pinon Would I use to Make it Pull Down The Track,I Don't have much money to go out and Buy a Whole lot of Pinon just to get 2 of them,I can put my money other Places then buying Extra Pinon I don't NEED,If you Help me out on this it dosen't mean I'am going to Beat you on the Track and it Depends on the Dirt,Who has First Run,How your Motor are doing,How Well your Battery Pack are,How Well The Drive Dose.Jim

if you are pulling 9 turn motors in your rig they will not make it they will smoke...IMHO

I probably have at least 1 forward rotation motor in the old days you could flip the rear gearbox upside down and use 2 forward rotation motors...
