4 Link Mad Force with Clod tires

Hi Guys,

I've been contemplating ditching the TXT axles I have in my project truck and starting over with some Mad Force axles. The TXT axles are dainty compared to the Mad Force axles. I just want something I can drive hard without worrying about breaking a super expensive hard to find part. But I want to go for the realistic monster truck look, so I'll need clod tires. Have any of you done a four link mad force with clod tires?

I have a few questions if you have:
1. How did you connect the four links to the axles? Did you use parts from New Era/Super Shafty? Or directly mount to the axles some how?
2. How did you get the Clod tires on the axles and how do they work for you?
3. What else did you do custom? New chassis, tranny, driveshafts?

Suggestions and pics would be appreciated

Thanks!

I use Nitro A-1 wheels with old mad force knuckles and they clear perfectly. On the 4 link mount I cut the stock trailing arms and mount the lowers to it. I center my rear ends and make a upper mount off the center for the top 4 link. On the truck I didn't narrow I just mounted the 4 link narrow to the chassis to make it work.

Those are sweet!

Did you use two of the wide axle housings to get the diff centered? Or did you cut them to get them a certain width? How wide are they?

Will the old Nitro USA-1 wheels mount up directly to the newer VE Kruisers?

The orange one is narrower than stock. I cut the long side down to match the short side. Not sure ho wide it is.

I doubt the new knuckles will work. I know the twin force knuckles won't. The only stock knuckles I have found to work are the old nitro mad force knuckles when it came with the nitro A-1 style tires. You can cut the knuckles to clear and move the steering rod in.

Here are a few more pics. The video is of the carbon fiber chassis truck. http://s139.photobucket.com/albums/q317/TweakedTad/Twin/

As Tad said for Twinforce axles i had to dremal material off knuckles to get USA-1 Nitro Wheels to work was not a big deal worked fine after that ..
