Sounds like a good idea. I will get it down sometime this weekend, maybe take a couple pics.
right on! you know the more i looked over the body, the only real problem (besides the cracks) is the extended cab window... why's that there!?!:bang grrr maybe a crew-cab Ford body might be the resolution?

On with the Heavy Chevy

I finally have most of the stuff you see, bolted down, more or less. As I have found out, things always change.

The T-case ended up a little higher, but the back drive shaft still rotates freely, with no binding at all. See what you guys think so far.

Then I decided to take it outside, mocked up, to get some better pics

I still have plenty to do, but I hope you guys like the changes

RPP is out of stock on Bushwackers and Im afraid to order from overseas now, I ordered some emblems from Gemany a month ago, Still not here. The guy over there says they get stolen or lost in the mail all the time, so he's sending more, maybe they will make it through. SDI in Spain is the only other one I know of who makes chevy fender flares. So, they will have to wait.

BUILD OFF!!!! SWEET!! :tmb
Hold on to your horses son :) I still need to finish my 4 door and Im moving slow lately :)

I'll have to give that some thought, its a little smaller then my othe trucks. Maybe some MRC Losi Axles would work..

And Thanks Boss302, I plan on keeping the wheels on there, I think those tires really need beadlocks, but I haven't seen any that set me on fire.

Im not sure whats next, I've been under the weather a bit, I did get the shift linkage hooked up, and just kinda messin with the steering linkage. Its hooked up, but I don't like it.

Anyway, I still need to put a little more time into the body, because I have most of the chassis stuff worked out. I still have to mount the body, and since I've filled most of the holes, I will probably just go with velcro.

Not too shabby lookin wheels, I don't recognize them. Who has them and how much out of curiosity

Hi-Jack

Im gonna hijack my own thread, but this is for BOSS302 and shane77, or anybody really.

Not sure Im talented enough, and this may not be the the right year of Bronco, but this is what I would like to do to that Radio Shack truck

What you guys think

I'm not a dyed in the wool Chevy guy, it just seems like that is what I have come to own most of the time, I like all kinds of different makes and models, I wish we had more body styles to work with, but I guess thats not possible.

Just so ya know, we are not the first to attempt this I see. There is a couple threads on another forum with these same trucks. I guess its all been done by now.

hey jeffro that truck is lookin' good! i think it is gonna be tough for you to find a wheel that looks better than that one. those wheels are looking god with that truck, they make the truck look real scale.

hey i just found an old radio shack truck but it is an old '50 sumthin chevy p/u body. just out of curiosity what are the dimensions of those radio shack trucks? and what scale would it be? 1/18? what axles could you use on them? TLT?

I would love to see those pics of your dads Bronco. I finally did alittle research today, I didn't realize they made Broncos that long, I was thinking it was the Bronco II that was in the 90's

I just hope I can pull it off.

Thank You edwalsh8. this is becomming unanimous on the wheels :) Looks like I have a little gluing to do.

I will get those dimensions this evening after work, I do know these axle should fit almost perfectly, well, sort of.

I also found out from a friend in RI, that Venom Mini Giant Axles might work, but that will have to be an ebay thing I believe. I don't thinks its made anymore.

As for the scale, its bigger then 1\24 but smaller then 1\14, Not sure, maybe after I get the dimensions you can tell me

yea the 78 79 broncos were the best body style you should cut the mini back window and shorten it a tad bit

WOW, those are some great lookin Bronco's, evryone of them. :tmb Thanks guys. I know what you are up to with your Bronco don't I, BOSS :)

Its time to pick up a Blackfoot body, I forgot how good Bronco's looked, I've only seen one around here, and its in Greenview. Baby Blue and white, and a little rust, not sure of the year though.

The wheelbase on this truck measures 6 3/4", then I got sidetracked and forgot to measure the width, and its in the garage, and I'm too lazy to go back outside and get it, but its around 4" or so. Those axles from RC4WD are 3.2 inches or 82 mm, just about right
