I have read the rule book but still unclear on this!
is there a class that can use a clod axle for the rear?
would love to build a 2wd puller, and have a spare clod axle and
clod tires/wheels

thanks

Look at Bar Tire Sportsman. It may or may not stand up to the abuse.

it would be used for dirt/clay only,
Now I need to research chassis set ups and the rule book:tmb

The Clod gearboxes can be built to hold up even on carpet. Dual Motor Mod
(4wd clod) pulled over 100# on dirt and 400+ on carpet.
You will want to use straight axles though. Get rid of the dog bone / steering axles.

A tube chassis is legal. Here's a couple under body pics of the Dew truck and a 4wd that shows the gear layout better.

I think i worked out a deal for a machined aluim clod axle w/ full bearings and steel gears and a pair of aluim clod wheels
