By requirements I simply meant did I have to do anything other than pay the $67 to sponsor a class...never done it before, so I didn't really know...also. is it unusual for an individual to sponsor a class?

NOPE, the only requirement is pay the $67 and you have sponsored that class. It is not uncommon for an individual to sponsor classes.
