Since our Clods and crawlers need a high-torque servo to help turn those heavy wheels, we've looked at multiple low-cost servos in hopes of making one available that will suit customers needs. Designed for everyday use in place of high-priced digital servos, I think we've found one that meets those goals:

This standard-sized analog servo features:

- Full metal gears with bearings
- Multiple servo horns and mounting hardware
- Standard size: 1.6?x0.8?x1.5? (40.8x20.1x38mm)
- Weight: 1.98 oz (56g)
- Operating Speed @ 5V: 0.18sec/60 deg.
- Operating Speed @ 7.2V: 0.16sec/60 deg.
- Stall Torque @ 5V: 208 oz-in (15 kg/cm)
- Stall Torque @ 7.2V: 224 oz-in (16.1 kg/cm)

- Operating Voltage: 5-7.2V
- Uses Futaba servo horns

These servos are now in stock in limited quantities! Each servo will be $20 plus shipping and can be ordered direct on our website here:

out of curiosity, with a voltage difference of 2.2v, how can there be a difference of 16 oz?
Every servo has different advertised torque ratings depending on the input voltage. The higher voltage also increases the servo response speeds. I'm not sure of the exact calculation used to come up with the 16 oz-in difference though.

Thanks!

I'll be in for at least 1 and probably 2 when they come in. Please keep us posted so we know when to order.

We're taking preorders now, so you can order them now if needed. If the pre-orders exceed our 1st order quantity, we can have these turned around to us in about a week.

I didn't ask about spare parts, but will. At a minimum I'll look into carrying replacement cases. Thanks!

That looks exactly like the Towardpro MG946R (Version 2.0 of the Towardpro 995MG). I have 3 of 946R on my rig, and they are great servos for the $. The new board has much more resolution and centers better than the old 995MG. I've only been able to find one US distributor thus far, and it is nice to see someone else pick up these servos.

Looks similar (it may actually have the same case), but this has slightly upgraded specs from the MG946R. Baseline specs for both servos use similar input voltages, so this is slightly faster and has more torque than the MG946R.

MG946R:
Operating speed:
0.20sec/60degree @ 4.8v
0.17sec/60degree @ 6.0v

Stall torque:
10.5kg/cm (145.8 oz-in) @ 4.8V
13kg/cm (180.5 oz-in) @ 6V

CYS 15kg:
Operating speed:
0.18sec/60degree @ 5v
0.16sec/60degree @ 7.2v

Stall torque:
15kg/cm (208 oz-in) @ 5V
16.1kg/cm (224 oz-in) @ 7.2V

So, who is going to make a servo saver that can give us holding power when we use 200-300 oz servos?
Ofna's still aren't as strong as I like, and they can blow apart easy..
Some out there have a aluminum shell, but the spring is still way too weak..
Build a awesome servo saver, the clod world needs it :)

These are not digital servos or are they?

The price sounds killer even if you have to pay shipping:tmb

Hi Bret. I would like to order 4 of your servos. I race pulling trucks and also RC sailboats which use Hi Tech 645 MG servos for the sails. Let me know the amount and I will pay with paypal. Thanks Bill.

Well, that didn't take long. We have only 5 servos remaining from our original preorder lot. These are the ones expected in around April 1st.

Once those 5 are sold, we'll continue to take orders but delivery will be delayed until our 2nd shipment of these arrive. Hopefully that will be no longer than April 8th.

Thanks to everyone who has purchased these from us!
