I'm digging the HPI Super Stars!! I bet it would look killer with chrome finish. Reminds me of how 37s on 24s look on real trucks. Do they fit on the Hex supplied with the kit? How tall are the dirt hawgs compared to the factory tires?

Well, these aint exactly 2.2 rims but I was messing around with some of my old Tamiya kits today when I cam across some road wheels from a Lancia 037 rally kit. I fitted them and reckon it looks pretty good.

neo, those look good, but did it narrow it up?
They almost look like centerline 500's
I didnt really measure them to be honest. BUT, will go and fit the stock wheels back on and get a measurement for you.

Be right back ;)

OK,

The stock wheels and tires fitted gave a width measured from outside to outside of the tire of 8 1/2 inches.

With the other wheels fitted came to 8 1/4 inches. So I have lost 1/4 inch width.

Hope this helps :)

oh, a 1/4 inch is no biggie

if you wanted tg10 wide axles and the hex/upright trees are easy enough to get it wider again

That looks AWESOME. It appears that the truck is lifted though, doesn't it?

Or is that just sitting on stock chassis?
Thanks, thought it looked pretty good myself. Just a 3/4" body lift , using spacers under the h-plate, and box mounts. As it sits the tires don't rub the body with what little articulation the truck has.

When I get a little more time I am going to tackle a leaf spring lift, just have to pick up a little spring steel so I can make up some new springs.

Here's some photo's with Geo's and RPM rims. They fit pretty nice and they don't rub at factory hieght.

I'll be doing a lift just to get a little more scale look, but you don't really need one.

Being in the UK, getting hold of wheels is limited. Is there a model name/number for those RPM wheels. They look great. Especially as they seem to fit with the shell at stock height.

Thanks :rcmtrocks

Just out of interest guys. Would a set of Traxxas Stampede front wheels #3673 work ok with the Geo's. With the option of narrowing the wheels if need be?

Thanks for any input.

The reason im asking is that there is no where in the UK I can find that sells the RPM rims.

the traxxas wheels will fit and work well
however, the mounting area is very thick so onnly a few threads showto catch the nut. Two choices, tg10 wide axles (link in faq) and or countersink the wheel face for the nut.
I opted for the tg10 axles on my tlt to use them, and put them on my high lifts too.

You can also use thinner hexes, The ones I'm using are from a HPI kit. I think they are off an RS4?? Can't remember they came on my TLT :roll

Hi all ;)
I have a bit of an update for you. I have just been sat here pondering the meaning of life, when I suddenly remembered I had a couple of old pede wheels in the attic that I used as practice wheels for narrowing. Anyway, I just went and found one and tried it on the Hi-Lift to see how short the stub axle is, and to my surprise, there seems to be enough thread. Infact it might just be about 2mm less. But as you can see from the pic, I reckon I can get away with not having to get the TG10 stub axles.
What do ya think?????
