Well this is my second tube chassis build. I sold my FJ and started work on this one. I skipped the build stages this time.
Onto the tech...
TLT axles
MSD axle c's
MSD link/servo mount
3 racing knuckles
MSD straight axle adapters
Custom made Axle Truss
CAC Wheels... (of course)
RC4WD 1.9 Rock Crushers

Still have some more work to do but I couldn't keep it a secret anymore.

:tmbMan your whipping out tubers like a pro!!! Did you make that black truss yourself? Any extras?:rof Great work!

Once you start you want to just keep building them... better and better. I did make the Truss myself. You like?

I love!!! This is what happens when your low on time, resources and talent...a crappy piece of angled aluminum to serve as a top link mount:

Looks good can't wait to see the almost finished pictures before you sell:rof

Will there be any side panels?

I was going to get the 1.9 Crushers (still may) for my X-trail build but I just saw Rc4wd is coming out with a new set of Tires (can't remember the name). Also I need to get a set of those jackstands (link Please!!) man they really look cool when your showing your pictures:tmb:tmb

Yup... that's the link... They were 7.99 I think and they raised the price as soon as everyone started ordering them.

I hope to keep this build. It all depends. The last one aggravated me when I started on the interior so I sold it. No plans for an interior on this one. Just some side panels and a Mamba 4600 setup. So maybe I'll keep it. I really like building stuff more than actually running it...

Awe-inspiring...must be nice to have talent:tong. I'm definitely loving it! And those jackstands are just too cool for words.

nice work Bob
You really picked it up quick :tmb

What are your plans for a trans?
Thanks Will... It's not as hard as I thought it would be. The supplies can add up quickly though. These aren't as cheap to build as I thought.

I'm thinking of either an Axial or a Pede. I'm not sure yet because I'd like to put a Mamba 4600 sidewinder combo in this thing and see how it goes. I don't know if the plastic gears in the axial will be strong enough. The pede trans I have has all steel internals so I might try to squeeze that in we'll see.

I'd like to see rc4wd make steel internals for the axial, now that would be a nice trans. The axial is nice and small, and layed out better than the pede is.

That would be real nice... the strength of the Pede but in an Axial. I have 3 Axial's right now and they are so compact. Did I mention cheap too!

EXACTLY!!!!!:willy:willy:willy

Are those the ones for me? I hope so cause I then I don't have to paint them. I like how you make the countersink after you painted, really gives it some POP!

Here's an update... I broke it all back down to braze some braces and stuff. I end up spending more time staring at it trying to come up with ideas than actually working on it. I can't seem to draw something up first.

That looks really nice.
Are you going to make panels, or leave it open showing the tubes?

And did you braze, or silversolder? I'm only asking because powdercoating gets heated to 400 and solder could cause issues where the others wouldn't.

That's just sweet :tmb

I plan on making some panels for it.

I used Harris Silver solder. Should be fine for powdercoating. Powdercoating heats the whole piece up not a defined area like when brazing or soldering and the melting point on the Safety Sil is 1195? F and it liquifies at 1265? F. I pulled the Temps from the Harris website. If my State taxes ever come in I'm buying a welder though. Damn RI probably doesn't even have the money to send to me.

yeah,, silversolder is stronger to as well as the higher melting point.

That came out so well you really should get powdercoating done. :tmb
