BRUDER CAT BULLDOZER RC CONVERSION ATTEMPT
I got a request from a distributor of this product to convert a 1/16th scale CAT Bulldozer into an RC with the available materials I have, fortunately I had a busted RC Tank lying around the shelf waiting for parts, so I decided to salvage the electronics and the gearbox.

So my son thinks I got it for him, fortunately the guy gave me another CAT Bulldozer as payment for the conversion.
Here goes the conversion:
First off were the tracks, the toy came with a simple rubber tracks that didn't have any form of link with the sprocket, and the sprocket itself had some little splines in the center that works as traction with the rubber tracks, bad!
So in the photo below shows my attempt to replace it with a spare Heng Long tracks from my Tiger 1 RC Tank, it would have worked but I didn't have much time to work on it.
Next up is fitting the receiver/control board inside the 'Dozer, this board technically has 5 working features in an RC tank. In this project I was only going to make the Tracks and the blade elevation work. I had to position the board way up in the hull of the dozer so that I could still accomodate some gearbox for any additional function.
After fitting the board, I was able to squeeze-in the gearbox, this gearbo has 2 separate motors and gear sets that works independently. This was the most challenging part as it needed precision alignment, so i got my special tool, the "approximeter" lo (meaning I appoximated everything! lol)
There were no screwing points nor space to mount a screw or bolt, so little CA glue was a big help here
Here is the output drive shaft.
Since that output drive shaft was only about 5mm and greatly smaller than the inner diameter of the drive sprocket which was 8mm, I noticed that my excess airsoft barrels were 8mm in outer diamter and with a 6mm inner diameter, I had good use of this, I managed to fill up the 1mm gap by using a simple transparent hose and placed it in between the output drive shatf and the airsoft barrel.
