If you want to put a Digger body on the MF I would go with the Proline as you said. I have a bunch of Digger bodies and the Parma 1/10 is too small for a MF, the Parma 1/8 is way too big. The Proline is a bit bigger than the 1/10 Parma, so with a short wheelbase MF it would be nice.

Nice original truck you got there. Those lights were definitely added after the fact, but I'm pretty sure Tamiya did offer a headlight bulb kit back in the day. I think my father's original 87 Clod has the Tamiya kit.

Building the Cross kits is very enjoyable, my father has a few of the 6x6 trucks they make. Here's a picture of one with one of my Hummers, we run them in the woods quite often. The Cross is great to have around for towing my Hummer out of deep mud.
